Aer Stephen welcomes long time friend and extraordinary artist and spokesman for the arts, William “Bill” Dunlap, as a very special live guest. Bill is is town to “moderate” a unique panel discussion and “Live Art” event that will include Patrick Oliphant and PJ O’Rourke and takes place tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 23. Called “the most influential cartoonist now working” by The New York Times, Oliphant occupies a unique position among today’s editorial cartoonists. Widely considered the dean of the profession, he is regarded as one of its sharpest, most daring practitioners. O’Rourke is a correspondent for Atlantic magazine, a contributing editor at The Weekly Standard and a member of the World Affairs editorial board. He is the former editor-in-chief of the National Lampoon and was a foreign correspondent for Rolling Stone from 1985 to 2000. William Dunlap has distinguished himself as an artist, arts commentator, and educator during a career that has spanned more than four decades. While discussing such topics as the Bush administration, the state of the economy, the campaign, and Obama’s presidency, Oliphant will create a series of drawings inspired by the conversation’s flow.
